I don’t need an attorney!
No! You don’t … if you can rely on the Court of Protection to eventually appoint someone (not of your choosing) and to charge you for their effort. Remember, you don’t have to register a general power of attorney.

Quite the opposite. A general power of attorney is an easier and cheaper solution if mental capacity is not a concern. And you can revoke and replace your attorney if you want to.
